The Union County High Counseling Department is happy to announce that the sophomore ambassador to the Hugh O’ Brian Youth Leadership Program is open for candidates. Founded in 1958, HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. One sophomore from our high school is eligible to participate in the HOBY programs conducted annually throughout the United States.
Historically the ambassador conference is held during a weekend in the summer at one of the college campuses in Georgia. The UCHS representative will be selected from an applicant pool of current sophomores based on a required essay, interview, résumé, and a list of community service, and academic achievements to date.
Best of luck to all of this year’s applicants who will decide to participate in the selection process. Applications are available from the Counseling office and Mr. Miller
